Travel Day…Ecuador Here We Come!

We left San Francisco at 11:00pm on Saturday , our first leg was a 4 hour flight to Chicago. Arriving in Chicago at 5:00am Sunday . Now after a four hour layover we are on a 4 1/2 hour flight to Panama City. Then a 2 hour flight to Guayaquil , Ecuador. Whew!!! Our connection in Panama is kinda tight and I think we are leaving Chicago a bit late, oh well.. We’ll see what happens .

This is our first time flying First Class!! OMG!!!! I may not be able to go back to coach ever again!!! I am enjoying a glass of red wine and warm nuts at the moment and I’m an extremely happy girl!! We were given menus for our lunch selection, hah! We ordered the pork. This may be a long, grueling day but we are comfy as can be so who cares!….More wine, please! I like it here😍

We arrive in Guayaquil at 5:30 and Make our way to the Hotel Palace Guayaquil . We have read that the Drive to Cuenca is quite harrowing and not recommended to do at night. So since we arrive so late we decided to stay and have a relaxing dinner and leave in the morning. It will be nice to see the area. I’ve read that there is a lovely walk along the ocean, sounds good after all this sitting. We arranged a shared van,$ 12.00 per person, for a 3 1/2-4 hour drive. Since we never got a confirmation on that reservation we printed out a map of where the van place is so we will just find it and hopefully get a ride. If not, then the bus it is! Not ideal, but not the end of the world, just part of the adventure.

I believe lunch is served…. I shall return momentarily. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Ahhhhhh, that was delicious ! I’m sold! It’s first class for me!! Yea, RIGHT! Just enjoying it , likely won’t happen again, Damn! Lol😊…… Oh my, the desert tray is comming!! Pat… You should be here ! 😱

Boy oh boy, the adventure begins! After two extremely enjoyable legs in my new favorite place ,first class it went downhill fast. We were told we couldn’t check in to the Panama City leg until we got there and we would need to go to the gate to get our boarding passes. So we arrive at the gate in plenty of time , about ten minutes before boarding . There was some problem that was difficult to decipher , phone calls head shaking, lots of computer keys getting banged! Long story short, they gave our seats away! We ended up back with the Riff-Raff!! Noooooo! In the end I was just relieved to get on the plane. At least it was the shortest leg of our journey, 1 1/2 hours. We survived. Now the icing on the cake, they lost our luggage! Ha!Ha!Ha! (that’s a crazy laugh!). Soooo they will deliver it to us hopefully tomorrow but if not then soon there after in Cuenca. We will just have to buy some essentials and make due! Like I said….. Let the adventure begin!!!😁😱

Life is Good! But it's time for a change, and more adventure! I'd like to share the whole experience of preparing then actually making a reality of expatriating, and moving to a new country. It's an exciting, and slightly scary move full of possibility . I'm looking forward to learning a new language and making new connections with the people who share our spirit of adventure. This blog is my way of continuing my connection with my friends and family in the States. Sooooo here it goes! :)
