Histories Shared….

My history, your history, Our history. I’ve been thinking about all the people in my life and the history we share. Some go way back to my childhood some my young adult or teen years and other shared histories go back to my early 20’s and still others are more recent histories. This came to my mind of course, because I’m only months away from moving to a new place where I have no history with anyone there. Kinda makes me stop and ponder this fact.

Those few folks from my ‘way- back’ history who remain a part of my current life (there are very few) hold a very dear place in my heart. They knew me way back when I was only just becoming the me that I am now. And we share a mutual knowledge of much younger, maybe more pure versions of who we were before now, where we began.

I have a fondness for history in general. A big part of who I am today is largely due to my own personal history. My history and how I chose to interpret various aspects of my experiences. Although we all have a collection of personal life experiences, we often make a conscience effort to change and evolve into emotionally, spiritually and hopefully physically healthy adults as a result of (or possibly in spite of) our past. I think the very ‘core’ of who we are remains the same. Life experiences may leave some scars or wounds but they can also give us valuable perspective it all depends upon how we choose to see our life challenges . Are you a victim of your past or are you a victor over your past? All of life’s challenges are capable of creating inner growth and transforming us into exceptional human beings. But I digress…. History…

There is something very comforting about having people in my life who I share a history with. Shared memories of how we used to be or of experiences we shared , are valuable things that create special connections. Of equal importance, though, is “Today”! It’s nice to look back and reminisce about our history but today is the beginning of fresh new experiences ! The start of each new day is fresh and new, filled with possibilities . Who will I talk with today? What will I learn about that person, what will we have in common? It won’t take long in my new home to establish new connections and begin to create the start of shiny new histories! There will come a time when I look back at the beginning of our lives in Panama and I know I’ll be grateful for all the special people in my life! Cuz’ that’s just the way life works! 😄. Every new day is a History in the making✨

Life is Good! But it's time for a change, and more adventure! I'd like to share the whole experience of preparing then actually making a reality of expatriating, and moving to a new country. It's an exciting, and slightly scary move full of possibility . I'm looking forward to learning a new language and making new connections with the people who share our spirit of adventure. This blog is my way of continuing my connection with my friends and family in the States. Sooooo here it goes! :)
