Today I got to visit my daughter, Mariah’s Cosmetology school . She is nearing the end of her program and needed to do one more facial. I was overjoyed to offer myself up as her final facial victim, oops! I meant client!
She did a great job slathering all that cream on my face and massaging and cleansing ! Mmmmmmm! It was very relaxing. Then I got to meet her best buddy, Molly. She’s been telling me so many nice things about her , it was great to finally get to meet her. She introduced me to all her instructors too! I got the Grand Tour! Then to top it all off she decided I needed my eyebrows waxed! Yikes! I NEVER enjoy getting waxed but , anything for my little girl! There was much, very UNPROFESSIONAL giggling going on while she ripped out my upper lip hair and let’s not forget those nasty little chin hairs( peach fuzz, really!π³), lol! She claimed that a little blood is a “Good” thing! Huh?? I drew the line at waxing the NOSE HAIR!! NO WAY!!π±π. Ok, I take it back, not “Anything” for my little girl after all! Being at her school brought back so many memories for me. It’s hard to believe its been 30 years since it was me in beauty school. I’m so proud of her. She has a very grand plan for her future . She has decided that doing hair is not her “Thing”, she wants to be a medical esthetician . That is a skin care specialist who works in a dermatology office or a plastic surgery office. There is currently a big trend towards, “Medi-Spas”. She plans to pursue some advanced training in New York where there are several schools that offer specialized training geared towards this vocation. So as I head to Panama she will be moving to New York to begin her path towards an exciting career. She is very fortunate to have an incredibly generous aunt who lives in Manhattan and is willing to host her temporarily while she gets her bearings . Aunt Jeanie is a retired College professor who will be an amazing mentor, I’m envious! I imagine that Mariah’s about to begin an Amazing Adventure of her own! Stay tuned! I know I will!
She is soooo your daughter!! Not only in looks but is seems that she has your “adventuristic” personality as well!! Good luck, Mariah!
I read this to Mariah and she says,” Thanks!”.
