Our tradition has always been to drive up into the mountains and chop down our Christmas tree on the Sunday after Thanksgiving . This year it seemed a bit premature because it’s not even December yet! But , oh well! Up to the mountains we went!
It was an especially great day for me because Mariah came along and brought her friend Cole. Cole had never been to chop down a tree so it made me happy to have him join us. Every year I dream of gathering a group of friends together to enjoy the outdoors and hike around hunting for the perfect tree , maybe bring along a picnic and have fun, one year I did manage to coerce a few friends but they never wanted to repeat the adventure. We just don’t have the ‘lumberjack’ type of friends!😜 So every year Scott and I enjoy the beautiful experience and find great pleasure in our silly little tradition just the two of us! It was a treat to have Cole and Mariah with us this year, especially since it is our last year to do it. And we were successful in finding the perfect tree, about 13 feet is the height that works best in our cathedral ceilings . I haven’t decorated it yet but it looks so pretty already! Next weekend I’ll torture Scott with Christmas music while I decorate to my hearts content!
