12/16/12. Scott needed to use a very generous gift card he received as a big thank you from some friends who he did a bathroom remodel for. The gift card was for golf at Poppy Hills golf course on 17 Mile Drive in Monterey. Soooooo given the fact that there is a marvelous spa conveniently located near Poppy Hills golf course, I was happy to tag along with my sweetie! This was a golf game I would enjoy , for sure! We met our friends at the golf course , the boys jumped in their golf cart as me and my girlfriend followed the friendly GPS to “The Spa at Pebble Beach”! We were on a mission to indulge ourselves in much needed, and much deserved opulent luxuriating ! Ahhhhh!  We were not a surprised, to confirm what we both suspected ,” we are ‘naturals’ when it comes to luxuriating !”. Yep! We had no problem soaking up every moment of our delicious spa day! We truly BELONGED there!

The Spa at Pebble Beach definetly exceeded any expectations I had in my mind for a relaxing day. The setting was beautiful, the staff was attentive to our every need and the services were so amazing! We arrived about an hour and a half early for our treatments so after we were given the grand tour we slipped into our plush spa robes and flip flops to find a cozy spot to relax and do a bit of reading. We had been shown a spot that my friend and I just knew we would love so off we went. There is an area they called ‘The Conservatory’ , this is a small circular shaped building with about 10 cozy chairs with footstools & very plush blankets situated around a giant fire pit! Ahhhh! Did I mention, Ahhhhh? Yep, relaxing was commencing! We were the only two in the conservatory which was suppose to be a quiet area so given the fact that there was no one to give us the evil eye, we decided to be rebels and chit-chat to our hearts content as we sipped on hot tea and munched on almonds.

I splurged on two services (luxuriating , right?) first I had a facial with a papaya/pumpkin scrub(Ahhhh !), then I had a pedicure (Double Ahhhh !). My girlfriend spoiled herself with an herbal body scrub that she thoroughly enjoyed. My facial was both relaxing and rejuvenating and the esthetician was a lovely women . After my facial, Beth, the esthetician, escorted me to my pedicure. “LA-DE-DAH!”. What a decadent pedicure! The pedicure chair itself was attatched to  a beautiful glass bowl filled with hot fragrant water for my feet to soak in, situated in front of a roaring fire! As my toes were soaking in the hot water and the massaging chair began to lull me away to luxury-heaven the manicurist offered me a mimosa! Well, I’m not one to decline such an offer! “yes, please!”. Like I said,”LA-DE-DAH!”. 😍 Did I mention ‘Opulant , Luxeriating’? Yep! At the end of these very yummy services I made my way back to the conservatory area to find my friend. We decided to end our relaxing day with a quick dip in the jacuzzi , just in case we may have had one last bit of pre-spa-day stress  lingering somewhere in our bodies , a jacuzzi would surly do away with it! Yes! This day was most definitely a sweet success for us girls! But what about those two golfing guys? Well , they both enjoy golfing and Poppy Hills is a very pretty course, but neither of our guys had a very successful game. As we four enjoyed a scrumptious lunch at The Lodge overlooking the 18th hole of Pebble Beach they both had a few chuckles as they told us the tales of their woeful attempts at golf . I think for them it was a day of luxuriating in thier way, being on such a pretty golf course and enjoying even a poorly played round with a friend is never a bad day, for sure! Then to top it off with such a wonderful lunch with two  sparking, relaxed, happy women, they had a ‘Win Win’ kinda day. I can say with certainty , fun was had by all! With a touch of ,”LA-DE-DAH!”.

Life is Good! But it's time for a change, and more adventure! I'd like to share the whole experience of preparing then actually making a reality of expatriating, and moving to a new country. It's an exciting, and slightly scary move full of possibility . I'm looking forward to learning a new language and making new connections with the people who share our spirit of adventure. This blog is my way of continuing my connection with my friends and family in the States. Sooooo here it goes! :)
