Okay.. so we knew that one thing we would really miss about living in the Silicon Valley was gonna be the variety of food. There are many good restaurants here in Boquete. We love George’s Grill, Big Daddy’s, Sugar & spice and Baru’s just to name a few. But we have yet to have found any Chinese food…not to mention Thai food or caribbean food or Greek food , but I digress. We’ve been craving Chinese food lately. We know of only one Chinese restaurant and tonight we had the opportunity to give it a try. Well, it wasn’t Chef Chu’s, But it wasn’t bad. Even though we were the only people in the restaurant we didn’t let that stop us from having a good dinner. We mostly cook at home but when we feel like going out to eat we really love that here in Boquete there’s many good restaurants to choose from.
On another note…Last night I was very sad to have ruined my iPad and today I’ve found peace in knowing that there’s a way to get it repaired. I learned about videos on YouTube that show how to replace a cracked screen, we can order a new screen from Amazon and do it ourselves. But I think we’ll try to see if anyone here has experience with replacing the iPad screen before we attempt it ourselves . I’ve already gotten the names and contact info of three different repair guys and I’ll make the rounds after school. All in all, this is yet another experience in our adventure! There’ll be no dashing down to the Apple store for instant gratification ! Nooooo! But somehow I’ll find a way to make it all better! It’s not the end of the world, it’s still working , the poor thing just looks pathetic 😰.
And …. We’re getting ready to do our next border run. I cant believe it’s already been 90 days! For those of you just tuning in, our U.S. Drivers license is valid only for 90 days , then we have to leave the country in order to re enter and restart the 90 day clock once again. The rules seem to change constantly but as of late we must be out of the country for 48 hours . Our friends V & M are joining us for a mini weekend adventure to Costa Rica! We plan to cross at the Rio Sereno border crossing and make our way to San Vitio, at least close to it. We found a cute little inn
http://www.casabotania.com. And plan to stay for two nights. We understand that the requirements to renter panama are the same as last time we did this (proof that you have a minimum of$500.00, a valid airline reservation to exit panama). No problema. It’s a great excuse to enjoy a weekend away.
This morning Scott and I had a little chuckle because we found it humorous how different our perspective is right now as we discuss a trip to Costa Rica. In our past life a trip to Costa Rica would have been a big deal! It would have required lots of planning, we would have been really excited looking forward to it for months. Arranging for time off work, rescheduling clients. Saving money, organizing a house sitter and making sure the cats were taken care of. And now it’s just a necessary weekend jaunt. It’s great!
