Exciting! New! Adventure! REALLY?

I notice, as you may have as well , that I often refer to our future life abroad with various adjectives such as ‘Exciting’, ‘New’ and let’s not forget,’Adventure’! Let me assure you, I suffer no illusions of grandeur about the realities of everyday life living in a new place. I tend to focus on the positive and some may say, optimistic aspects especially while writing about our new life. Naturally! But, I also realize that after we get through this long stage of planning, preparing and strategizing, ‘actual’ life will begin in earnest. Reality will set in and it will not always be great or exciting , even the ‘new’ will begin to fade. Just like life in general, there’s no good without a bit of bad.

We Better Get Used To It!

FRUSTRATION! Yep, we had better get used to being frustrated by inefficiency! From what we have read on Panama forums and other blogs , living in Panama or any other South or Central American country for that matter , can be rather frustrating at times. But! Wait! We are still living in good old’ U.S . Of A, and holy moly, did we feel the sting of frustrating inefficiency yesterday!

The Journey is The Destination!

We love the journey! It starts with a dream or an idea or just a curiosity. Hearing my clients talk about far away places , exotic sights, sounds and flavors ! My mind begins to wonder. I dream of jungles and beaches with soft white sand and warm water, old historic architecture , cobbled streets crowded with merchants selling thier goods. Foods I’ve never tasted, smelled, or even heard of. Even the animals, bugs, Butterfly’s and birds lure my imagination to faraway places.
